A perfect coach and innkeeper partnership.
ask them about their own LIFE-changing stories.
Margaret James and Sam Campbell are your hosts for the weekend.
Margaret is a certified career coach and strategic facilitator, responsible for all program development and delivery. She’s taken the best of her 10 years of career coaching and packaged it into a high impact long weekend program.
Sam is innkeeper and owner of Cobblestone Farm. She'll ensure you're comfortable and well looked after throughout your stay.
Both women have made big changes in their own professional lives - having left corporate careers, sold their Toronto homes, and launched successful businesses.
MARGARET JAMES - Next Chapter Coach
Margaret James is a business veteran who spent the first 20+ years of her professional life leading teams and strategic projects and their implementation in both corporate and entrepreneurial settings. She founded Q Strategy & Coaching in 2010, delivering leadership, team and career development solutions to clients across Canada and in a variety of sectors. As a committed community builder, she also serves as director and pro bono advisor to non-profit boards.
Margaret is an ICF-certified professional coach. A graduate of the Adler/UofT Coaching Certificate Program, she’s also completed advanced training in Organization & Relationship Systems Coaching, Group Coaching & Facilitation, and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction.
No stranger to big changes herself, in 2012 Margaret traded in her Toronto house for a lovely century home in small town Ontario. She still gets her city fix a few days a week, but always enjoys the feeling as she exits the highway and returns to a slower pace of life.
Margaret was on the lookout for a partnership opportunity where she could immerse her clients in that same fresh air and reflective space she's grown to love. She couldn’t be happier to have found Sam who exemplifies all that a good innkeeper (and human being) can be.
SAM CAMPBELL - Next Chapter Innkeeper
Sam worked in advertising for 25 years before making the full transition to gentle-woman farmer. Having had posts on both the international advertising agency and multi-layered sales side, Sam was living the modern day ‘mad men’. As she approached her mid 40's, she knew in her heart she wouldn't stay in advertising forever. But what to do when that's all you've known? Her answer: turn to something I’m passionate about and make that my new reality.
Cobblestone Farm was purchased in 1999 with the dream that one day it would become Sam's full time pursuit. In 2012 she started testing the waters with some events and rentals and, as the number of guests grew, so did Sam's love for hosting. So in 2018 she transitioned to retreat host full time, with the idea that she could accomplish even more.
Sam had been having coaching sessions with Margaret over a two year period, so it seemed like a perfect partnership to bring their two specialties together. And Next Chapter Long Weekend at Cobblestone Farm was born.
"Margaret has been great in helping me identify what is important to me in both my personal and professional life. She is great at cutting through the clutter of the mind to ask the right questions for individuals to help themselves. She helped me develop a personal framework for better decision-making, allowing me to take better onus of my life and pursue the lifestyle that is important to me.”
"What a wonderful location. The farmhouse was very comfortable with separate or shared bedrooms, beautiful common rooms, and outdoor patios to enjoy the great weather and the surrounding views of the countryside. I definitely recommend Cobblestone Farm and Next Chapter Long Weekend.”
"While I was working in a sector I loved, I felt like I'd lost my spark. Margaret helped me broaden my horizons, and recognize some amazing possibilities. We explored my strengths and values, and I discovered that I had a secret entrepreneurial streak! In learning that, and many other things about myself, I was inspired to take the leap, and start my own business. My only regret is that I didn't call Margaret sooner - working with her is the best investment I've ever made in myself and my career.”
“Any information we needed to feel at home was made available to us. In our experience, not all retreat owners are as accommodating with their time. We would highly recommend the farm, and we are grateful to Sam for her generosity.”
